Community Ideas

I was thinking of researching:

1. Four-Point in the Alexander Music Building - why - my interest is music and this would be a fantastic place to observe people like myself.

2. Starbucks in the student center - why - a variety of people enter coffee shops and I believe that it would be very interesting to watch.

3. The Halle Library - why - libraries have always fascinated me and this would be a good opportunity to observe the way different people act in a library.

I am leaning towards either the library or the Four-Point. I will want to observe the type of people and how they interact with each other at each of these places.

These are really good places, Jacob! The Four-Point might present challenges, since you are not entirely an "outsider" to that environment and may not have as many questions. Starbucks and the library would probably be good places. Where in the library would you go? Paradox Cafe? A computer area? Also, consider which group of people you'd observe most. Keep thinking through these ideas!

I would probably look at several areas in the library depending upon the week. That can allow for more questions and a different variety of people! I believe everyone that I would observe would be students also.

I can see what you mean about variety, but remember, part of the assignment is to look for patterns. Patterns would be more easily spotted in a consistent space.
